In the midst of wars and rumours of wars breaking out across the world, the church is being divided like never before on issues concerning the Jewish people, the Temple and the Sovereignty of the Lord. As we look at these crucial world events taking place we must make it our priority to see things correctly, as the Lord does. In this teaching series, Michael Hanley explains what the Lord’s heart is concerning these topics, based on what scripture tells us. In order for the Day of the Lord to come the Third Temple must be built. Regarding the Temple, scripture does not say “if” – it says “when”. In order for the abomination of desolation to take place, there must be a Holy Place, which is in the Temple.

15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Matthew 24:15-16

Michael goes into how replacement theology has robbed the church of a biblical view of Israel and the Temple. Deuteronomy 32 tells us clearly that Israel is the Lord’s inheritance. He loves them, like the picture of the prodigal son returning to his father, the Lord wants Israel to turn back to Him. Romans 11 talks about the reconciliation of Israel and describes it as “life from the dead”.

15For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 16If the first part of the dough is holy, so is the whole batch; if the root is holy, so are the branches. Romans 11:15-16

We must have this same heart towards God’s people and His plans for them. We must not judge God when He brings about judgement in Israel to draw His people back to Him. The Lord’s plans are always good, and it will be by His hand alone that we see the Kingdom of God installed on the earth, with Jesus physically reigning over the nations (Daniel 2:44).
