I do not usually enter in this type of non-biblical political discourse such as “gun control.” But since it is everywhere, in everything I see now, I feel compelled to. First of all, I completely understand the feelings on both sides of this issue. I do agree it is crazy that this kid, with all those “red flags,” could not buy a beer, but could buy an AR 15 – which is not fully automatic, though people like to say it is. There are also lies going around about 18 school shootings in 2018, but if you look into it, that was spread by a left wing anti-gun group and the media ran with it. But either way, this should never have happened, and I really am totally fine with banning AR 15s. However, when you go after founding amendments, where do you stop? The first amendment is something that the God-hating left has no tolerance for anymore, and they want to take away our freedom as believers to teach biblical morality, calling it “hate speech.” So we must pause and realize that if one can be repealed, they all can be. When it comes to guns, however, it can absolutely be a grey area. And since there is so much propaganda out there on either side, we as believers must not use our feelings to guide us, but God’s word. America has always had guns, and in the last 85 years they haven’t changed that much. In the 50’s there were just as many guns around and even in the schools. So what is the difference today? The culture has changed radically – that’s what! When Christians ignore this part of the argument, it shows they lack a biblical world view. How many of these shooters have come from a real God fearing family? Why does no one ever bring that up? If they were Christian, it would be on everything you watch, and in everything you hear. Why does godless atheism get a pass? Weren’t Hitler and and all the communist dictators like him, atheists. But yet I have never heard a single pundit, or anyone else for that matter, ever mention it. So our godless culture that teaches children they are just smart animals and are worth no more than a rat, has a murder problem? Go figure! Why are those who want to take away the second amendment, and who voted against a law to ban murdering a baby that can live outside the womb, by sucking its brains out while it fights for life, lecturing us on morality? Aren’t they the ones who trampled all over the very thing that has kept this country safe for hundreds of years – Judaeo Christian values? Those are what has always kept our country safe and free. And we still have more freedom to worship and spread the gospel than anywhere else on earth.
Teaching children that they are animals, and watching them behave like animals, should not be a shock. What did people expect would happen to society? However, today with so many guns on the street illegally, it doesn’t make sense to take from upstanding citizens their only comparable defense. I am absolutely ok with a good and smart system of making sure we know who can purchase guns. I also concur with raising the age limit and banning certain weapons that are more for assault than protection. All of this is fair debate. But I am not going to spend my energy on all of the back and forth on social media. Things certainly have to change. But maybe they must change simply because we have to deal with the evil culture that the religion of Darwinian Atheism has produced. However, for Christians to care more about gun control than abortion is appalling to me. And if you are backing the party that supports partial birth abortion, and has pushed agendas to destroy the family and Judaeo Christian values in the family dynamic, that God created for the moral health of children, spare me the outrage!!! First of all there is absolutely no possible way to ban guns in America. And if politicians even try, there may be civil war. Every reasonable person understands that. Other countries with 20-40 million people in them, and a tenth of the land mass to police, trying to compare their countries to America with 330 million plus people, and such an incredible land mass with dangerous animals all over the frontier of the country, are out of touch with the full picture and scope of this vast and great nation. I live in Saugerties NY and routinely have huge black bears in my yard. Imagine what people in Alaska deal with? Furthermore, many who lecture us and scoff at our second amendment, have lost many of their freedoms already, and are like frogs about to boil in socialist tyranny. I am not loyal to guns, I am loyal to Christ and His word. Therefore I am not going to be totally invested in this issue. My concern as a Pastor is always the people the Lord has entrusted to me, and trying to help guide them to look at the world with a biblical world view. So when I post things and write things I am writing to Bible believing Christians. So if that is not you, you will probably hate everything I say. But I plead with those of you who are Christians, to always acknowledge the truth behind the culture change, and not the gun change.
